Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. We are excited to start a new year with the students and to have the opportunity to partner with families as we work together for the success of ALL our students. Folsom Middle School is a great place to be! We are proud of our students, their achievements, and the accomplishments our students and staff have earned. In the 2023-2024 school year Folsom Middle School received certification in Level 1 as a Marzano High Reliability School. FMS was also recognized as a 2024 California Distinguished School. FMS had also earned this honor in 2021. Personally, I am proud to share that I was named the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Middle School Principal of the Year both in Region 3 (the Greater Sacramento/Yolo area) and for the entire state of California. This is such a huge honor, and I am very humbled. I am proud to serve the Folsom Middle School community and to lead our amazing school staff, teachers, and students. At Folsom Middle School we are committed to providing academic excellence for ALL students and for living our vision of Cultivating Life-Long Learning for ALL Students.
The Folsom Middle School staff is dedicated to providing the students with a strong educational program which prepares them for success in the future. This school year we are excited to implement a flex period within our master schedule to provide students an opportunity during their school day to have specific targeted instruction to meet the students' intervention and enrichment needs.
We know that middle school is a period in a child's life that can be challenging for a multitude of reasons. The students are transitioning from elementary school and preparing for what is to come in high school. The three years of middle school can be full of ups, downs, and emotional adjustments. Peers become all important during this stage and, of course, there are challenges to face as the students become adolescents. All of us here at Folsom Middle School are well aware of the changes that middle school students face and we are here to support them through this time. Please know that, as the leader of the school, I pledge our commitment to providing the students with guidance and support while setting high expectations for character development and academic success.
