Principal's Message

Welcome to Folsom Middle School, home of the Jaguars!

It's the honor of a lifetime to step into this role. I want to start by recognizing Dr. Terri Daniels, whose leadership brought FMS to where it stands today: a 2024 California Distinguished School, recognized by the Sacramento Bee as the top middle school in Sacramento County, and certified in Levels 1 through 3 of the Marzano High Reliability School framework. That's a remarkable foundation, and I'm grateful to build on it rather than start from scratch.

What I've found here confirms everything I'd heard: a staff that shows up as a true professional learning community, and Jaguars who live out SPOTS every day — being Safe, Positive, On task, taking Responsibility, and showing Respect. That culture doesn't happen by accident.

My commitment to you is continuity where it's earned and momentum where it's needed. We'll keep pushing toward Level 4 certification — standards-referenced reporting — because middle school has to keep evolving to prepare our students for what's next. And we'll keep leaning on the partnership between staff, families, and community that makes this school what it is.

Thank you for trusting me with this next chapter. I'm proud to be a Jaguar, and I look forward to getting to know this community.

In partnership,
Dr. Jason Javier-Watson
