SHORT TERM INDEPENDENT STUDY

Minimum 3 day and maximum 14 days per student, for the entire school year. 

No Independent Study the 1^st two weeks of school or the last two weeks of school.

To initiate Short Term Independent Study, please complete THIS FORM. 

No IS the first two weeks of school or the last two weeks of school.

Families who choose not to be present in these timelines may be dropped from school and lose their place.

• Short-term independent study is for pupils with a minimum of three and fewer than 14 cumulative school days in a school year. Per Ed Code, we are to provide synchronous and in-person learning on day 15. 
• The Agreement must be signed by the parent/guardian 10 days prior to the time out of school.  
• Do not include weekends in number of days for IS.
• Work must be in hand on day 15. If work is turned in on day 16 the IS will be incomplete.
• Families can appeal the IS mandates in writing to the Education Services office (i.e. Shannon)
  • Students on an IEP MUST have a letter of approval or an addendum of services. This includes Speech IEPs as well.
