Principal Message

Thank you for stopping by to visit the principal webpage. 2025-2026 is an exciting year for Folsom Middle School. We are continuing the certification process for being a Marzano High Reliability School. Currently we are certified in Levels 1-3 (Establishing a Safe, Supportive and Collaborative Culture, Effective Teaching in Every Classroom, and a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum) and are beginning our journey to become certified in Level 4 (Standards-Referenced Reporting). Let’s face it—the way school is done needs to evolve as we strive to prepare our students for success in their future!  At Folsom Middle School, we take this responsibility very seriously. The staff has been working collaboratively as a whole school professional learning community to provide the students at FMS with the best educational experience possible. We are committed to the FMS vision of Cultivating Life-Long Learning for ALL Students.  We are proud to have been named a 2024 California Distinguished School and named in the Sacramento Bee as the top middle school in Sacramento County for 2024. In addition to all these accolades, I am honored to be named the ACSA (Association of California School Administrators) California Middle School Principal of the Year 2024, and a National Principal of the Year 2025 by NASSP (The National Association of Secondary School Principals) as well as the National Advocacy Champion of the Year 2025 for the work I do with NASSP for advocating on behalf of public education.

I am extremely proud of the hard work the students and staff of Folsom Middle School have focused on as we continue to improve learning for ALL students. Our student Jaguars work hard to earn their SPOTS by being safe, positive, on task, taking responsibility, and showing respect. At Folsom Middle School our students thrive! In addition to an emphasis on strong academic achievement and student growth, students also focus on building strong character, maintaining a healthy level of social and emotional competency, and demonstrating positive behavior. Folsom Middle School offers many extracurricular opportunities for students to be involved in school. Through clubs, athletics, and participating in school activities, there is never a dull moment at FMS. We are very excited for all the positive things that will take place in the upcoming school year. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or feedback. I welcome open communication and look forward to working with all our stakeholders as we build a community focused on learning, student growth and civic responsibility.

In partnership,

Dr. Terri Daniels
